Have you ever laid awake at night and thought about all the things in your life that you are doing wrong? This information may come as a shock to many people and as a joke to others, but the proof is in the pudding (no pun intended). In fact, with the recent invention of a device called the Squatty Potty, how people all over the world poop has been revolutionized. For most Americans, the struggle has been very real in terms of how we go to the bathroom. The problem with sitting is that it only partially relaxes the puborectalis muscle, which is located around the colon to help maintain continence. This partial relaxation of the muscle actually kinks the colon and blocks the flow of waste. The solution lies in squatting, which helps to fully relax the puborectalis muscle and opens the colon allowing it to empty completely.
